The Order of Malta Crumlin Unit is serving our community since 1978. From small beginnings the Crumlin Unit has grown from one member to its current status of over 25 Senior members and 21 Cadet Members. Our Cadets are aged between 10 and 16 years of age and are trained in basic life saving skills – First Aid, CPR, assisting with activities of daily living. We run annual competitions at both a Regional and National level which run in conjunction with our National Cadet Weekend. Our cadets are actively involved in the community helping the elderly and disabled both locally and internationally. They also attend first aid “duties” with members of the senior units at events such as GAA matches, novenas, fun days, athletics and other sporting activities.
Under the current Leader Adjt. Keith Nolan we carry out regular duties including Providing Transportation for weekly mass to St Agnes Church, assisting with local Arch Clubs carrying out various cover for local and national events (O2, Race Courses, Major Race Courses) in which we provide providing Pre Hospital Emergency / Ambulance Cover up to Paramedic Level and indeed taking part in may pilgrimages including Knock & Lourdes in which we bring the sick on pilgrimage.
